sesame_beefThis is a very simple Chinese beef stir-fry recipe that you can serve with white rice or Chinese flat noodles. Easy to make and delicious, this dish will no doubt be a hit in your home as is in mine.

 

Ingredients :

  • 1 lb Beef fillet.
  • 1 1/2 tbsp of sesame seeds.
  • 1/2 cup of beef stock.
  • 1/2 tsp of Chile flakes.
  • 2 tbsp of soy sauce.
  • 2 tbsp of fresh grated ginger root.
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped.
  • 1 tsp of cornstarch.
  • 1 large head of broccoli, cut into florets.
  • 3 tbsp of sesame oil.
  • 1 orange or red bell pepper, sliced into thine strips.
  • 1 red or green Chile, sliced finely.
  • 1 tbsp of chopped cilantro. 

 

Directions :

  1. Using a small bowl, mix the beef strips with 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds.
  2. Whisk together the beef stock, soy sauce, ginger root, garlic,cornstarch and Chile flakes in a separate bowl.
  3. In a large skilet or wok, heat 1 tbsp of sesame oil.
  4. Add the beef strips and Stir-fry for about 3 to 4 minutes and set aside.
  5. Discard any oil or sesame seeds left, and wipe the pan clean.
  6. Heat the remaining oil and add the broccoli, bell pepper, Chile flakes and chili oil.
  7. Stir-fry for about 3 to 4 minutes.
  8. Then add the beef stock mixture and the beef, let simmer for 2 minutes or until the juices thicken.
  9. Remove from the pan, sprinkle the remaining sesame seeds.
  10. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve immediately.
